And as His Essence all the world pervades
\nNaught in Creation is, save this alone.
\nUpon the waters has He fixed His Throne,
\nThis earth suspended in the starry space,
\nYet what are seas and what is air? For all
\nIs God, and but a talisman are heaven and earth
\nTo veil Divinity. For heaven and earth,
\nDid He not permeate them, were but names;
\nKnow then, that both this visible world and that
\nWhich unseen is, alike are God Himself,
\nNaught is, save God: and all that is, is God.<\/p>\n
And yet, alas! by how few is He seen,
\nBlind are men\u2019s eyes, though all resplendent shines
\nThe world by Deity\u2019s own light illumined,
\n0 Thou whom man perceiveth not, although
\nTo him Thou deignest to make known Thyself;
\nThou all Creation art, all we behold, but Thou,
\nThe soul within the body lies concealed,
\nAnd Thou dost hide Thyself within the soul,
